Pre-Calculus - Class Files
Math isn’t about who gets done the fastest or who understands it first. Mathematics is the study of patterns. Mathematicians notice patterns, describe patterns, and generalize patterns. Being “good at math” is more about effort and persistence than how ‘smart’ you are. No matter how you think of yourself as a math student, I will do my best to make this a ‘fun’ class.
This particular class is designed for students who intend to take calculus. We will explore functions, domains, ranges, graphs, data scatter plots and curve fitting, solving equations and systems of equations, polynomial functions, and rational functions. Another way to say the same thing: we’re going to do our best to create math models that describe and predict the world around us.
IF SCHOOLOGY IS NOT WORKING, you can locate notes and practice work for the course in the "Pre-Calc" drop down menu (up top).

The course syllabus is linked here. My classroom expectations pretty much boil down to:
1) Be Brave. 2) Be Kind. Of course there are more details than that, but those are the highlights. |
